Description
Tuning Fork S - 250.56 Hz Schumann resonance
Schumann resonances are electromagnetic waves excited by lightning along the Earth's circumference. The sufficiently conductive surface of the earth (mostly salt water) and the highly conductive ionosphere above it delimit a cavity resonator, the dimensions of which can be used to calculate resonance frequencies. Waves that are in the same phase again after orbiting the earth (i.e. the circumference of the earth is an integer multiple of the wavelength) are amplified, while others are canceled out. This results in a resonance frequency of 7.83 Hz on average. Five octaves higher, the frequency of the Schumann resonance is a tone with 250.56 Hz. The octave equivalent in the light spectrum is the color yellow-green.
