Steve Schroyder, pioneer of electronic music since the beginning of 1970 (including as a member of Tangerine Dream), and Jens Zygar, equipped with a complete set of Planet Gongs, founded the Star Sounds Orchestra in 1989. Her intention with the SSO was to devote herself fully to the planetary moods of the Cosmic Octave. They gave their first concert on September 29, 1989 in Solothurn, Switzerland, at the end of the workshop series "Swinging Worlds - A Soundful Autumn". Two years later, in 1991, her debut album “Planets” was released. With this musical setting of the planets of our solar system, the Star Sounds Orchestra set the first striking milestone in the history of truly cosmically harmonious music in Western culture.
